The Cappadocia Journal of Gastronomy, Food and Tourism Studies officially commenced publication in 2025. Published by the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at our University, the journal has released its inaugural issue as a digital, open-access, peer-reviewed international scientific journal, now available to the public.

Built upon the principles of sustainability, the journal aims to publish original research in the fields of gastronomy, food, tourism, and marketing in accordance with the highest standards of scientific ethics. Published twice a year, in June and December, the journal contributes to academic knowledge through an interdisciplinary perspective.

Moving beyond the view of gastronomy as merely culinary practice, the journal offers a multidimensional perspective encompassing culture, history, geography, economics, and sustainability. Studies ranging from traditional culinary heritage to contemporary gastronomic approaches, and from food production systems to consumption patterns, are presented within a framework that promotes both academic excellence and public awareness.

The articles featured in the inaugural issue examine the transformation of gastronomy at both local and global levels, food safety, sustainable agricultural policies, the growing role of gastronomy in tourism, and its relationship with marketing strategies through rigorous scientific methodologies. In this respect, the Cappadocia Journal of Gastronomy, Food and Tourism Studies serves not only as a valuable resource for academics but also for researchers and professionals working in the gastronomy, food, and tourism sectors.

Through its open-access publishing policy, the journal facilitates access to knowledge while strengthening academic collaboration at both national and international levels. By increasing the visibility of scientific research in gastronomy, food, and tourism, the journal positions itself as an academic platform that encourages interdisciplinary research and makes lasting, high-quality contributions to the scholarly literature.
