This book consists of the papers presented at the 4th International Environmental Humanities Conference: The Blue Humanities.

Held at Cappadocia University’s Mustafapaşa Campus from May 20 to 23, 2026, the conference explored water-centered ways of thinking from the perspective of the Environmental Humanities. It brought together literary, historical, cultural, philosophical, artistic, and ecological perspectives to examine the relationships between oceans, rivers, lakes, wetlands, and other aquatic environments, and broader questions of climate, culture, society, and human–nature relations.

The book brings together scholarly contributions addressing themes such as climate change, rising sea levels, aquatic ecosystems, multispecies relations, environmental justice, blue economies, water cultures, and blue ethics. Through these interdisciplinary perspectives, it contributes to ongoing discussions about ecological futures and new ways of understanding humanity’s relationship with planetary waters.
