According to the 2025 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, which evaluated 1,745 universities worldwide, Cappadocia University advanced from 399th to 344th place in the overall global ranking, further strengthening its position among the world’s top 500 most sustainable universities. Since first participating in the GreenMetric rankings in 2019, the University has improved its global performance rate from 49.74% to 80.29%, achieving its highest overall score and performance level in the past seven years.
Nationally, Cappadocia University ranked 37th among 142 Turkish universities participating in the 2025 rankings and climbed to 8th place among 39 foundation universities in Türkiye.
The University’s most distinctive achievement was in the Waste category. Cappadocia University ranked 29th worldwide in waste management, rose to 4th place among Turkish universities, and secured 2nd place among foundation universities in Türkiye. It also earned the maximum possible score of 1,800 points in this category.
Based on its overall 2025 score, Cappadocia University ranked 2nd among 16 Turkish universities with small campus areas and 8th among 38 universities with medium-sized campus populations.
In the category-specific global rankings, Cappadocia University placed 177th in Transportation, 422nd in Energy and Climate Change, 538th in Education and Research, 640th in Water, and 760th in Setting and Infrastructure. Among Turkish foundation universities, the University ranked 8th in Setting and Infrastructure, 12th in Energy and Climate Change, 5th in Transportation, 6th in Water Management, and 15th in Education and Research, reinforcing its strong position among Türkiye’s leading foundation universities.
