Cappadocia University Improved Its Sustainability Performance Across 13 Areas in the THE 2026 Rankings

Cappadocia University achieved a significant milestone in the Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026. Among 1,646 universities from 116 countries, including 74 universities from Türkiye, the University maintained its overall position in the 1001–1500 band while improving its performance in 13 Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) categories, demonstrating continued institutional progress in sustainability at the international level.

According to the 2026 results, Cappadocia University achieved its strongest performance in SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy). The University recorded a particularly notable achievement in SDG 4, advancing by two performance bands. It also improved by two performance bands in SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).

In addition, the University advanced by one performance band in SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), SDG 15 (Life on Land), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), further demonstrating its institutional progress across a broad range of sustainability areas.

These results highlight that Cappadocia University continues to make steady progress across multiple Sustainable Development Goals while strengthening its international visibility and impact in sustainability.

The achievements reflect the University’s long-term commitment to integrating sustainable development into all aspects of its activities. Sustainability-focused policies and practices implemented in recent years across education, research, community engagement, environmental management, and institutional governance have reinforced Cappadocia University’s comprehensive approach to sustainability and earned international recognition through the THE Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026.
