Our University, located in the world’s best tourism village, attended the 25th General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), responsible for promoting sustainable and universally accessible tourism.
More than 400 UNWTO members, including our University, came together at the 25th General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organization in Samarkand in line with the Sustainable Development Goals to promote sustainable tourism development. The UNWTO General Assembly, which aims to create a more ethical and robust tourism sector for the benefit of the international community, started with the presentation of reports on the activities of affiliated member organizations. At the summit, where member organizations aim to improve their cooperation on their work, the development of tourism and Sustainable Development Goals and supporting them with education and training activities will be discussed.
Important decisions are expected to be taken at the assembly, where tourism legislation and policy will also be reviewed within the scope of protecting tourists.
