Second International Environmental Humanities Conference: Critical Animal and Plant Studies brings together interdisciplinary studies that question the position of animals and plants within anthropocentric systems of thought and critically examine human relationships with more-than-human forms of life.
Drawing on the perspective of the Environmental Humanities, the volume engages with topics such as critical animal and plant studies, the representation of non-human beings, interspecies relationships, ecological ethics, and anthropocentrism. By questioning approaches that position humans as separate from and superior to the natural world, the work contributes to rethinking the relationships between humans and non-human beings.
The book was published by Cappadocia University Press in 2022 as the 45th publication in the Environmental Humanities Series.
