Within the scope of the British Council–supported ‘ELEVATE’ project, digital capacity-building trainings for women entrepreneurs have started in Hatay with our university as a project partner. Implemented in cooperation with the University of Wolverhampton, TechWM, Mustafa Kemal University, and CARE International, the project aims to support women entrepreneurs affected by the February 6, 2023 earthquakes in rebuilding and growing their businesses and in developing sustainable business models. The project will be carried out under the coordination of our University’s Center for Social and Strategic Studies Application and Research.
The first phase of the ELEVATE project trainings, which started on Tuesday, October 7 with 20 women entrepreneurs, will last for nine months and is expected to make long-term contributions to local development by empowering women entrepreneurs in the region.
Participants will gain knowledge and experience in many areas, ranging from digital skills and e-commerce to social media management and marketing strategies. Through the trainings conducted within the scope of the project, not only the individual capacities of women entrepreneurs but also networks of solidarity and cooperation will be strengthened. Women will be enabled to actively participate in Hatay’s economic and social recovery and reconstruction process.
