Sivas Tourism Master Plan and Tourism Development Action Plan Officially Launched
The launch programme for the Sivas Tourism Master Plan and Tourism Development Action Plan, prepared to define Sivas’s tourism vision, strategic priorities, and future actions, was successfully held.
Organised under the auspices of the Sivas Governor’s Office in collaboration with the Sivas Special Provincial Administration, Sivas Municipality, the ORAN Development Agency, the Sivas Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Union of Chambers of Tradesmen and Craftsmen of Sivas, the event brought together government officials, institutional representatives, tourism stakeholders, and members of the press.
The programme featured opening remarks by Abdullah Güler, Chair of the AK Party Parliamentary Group; Dr. Yılmaz Şimşek, Governor of Sivas; Nadir Alparslan, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism; Rukiye Toy, Member of Parliament for Sivas; Ahmet Özyürek, Member of Parliament for Sivas; Dr. Adem Uzun, Mayor of Sivas; Zeki Özdemir, President of the Sivas Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Hakan Demirgil, President of the Union of Chambers of Tradesmen and Craftsmen of Sivas; and Yunus Emre Şeker, Secretary General of the ORAN Development Agency. Representing Cappadocia University, Prof. Dr. Bilgehan Gülcan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Halil Burak Sakal, and Lecturer Dr. Avşin Ayhan attended the launch programme.
Following the opening speeches, Prof. Dr. Bilgehan Gülcan and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Halil Burak Sakal, representing Cappadocia University, delivered the official presentation of the Sivas Tourism Master Plan and Tourism Development Action Plan. The presentation outlined Sivas’s tourism potential, destination development priorities, tourism product diversification strategies, sustainable tourism approach, and practical action plans for implementation.
The launch programme was regarded as an important milestone in promoting a more integrated approach to Sivas’s cultural, historical, natural, and gastronomic assets, while strengthening the province’s position as a competitive and sustainable tourism destination.
