Earth Market Cappadocia–Uçhisar Reopens Tomorrow at Its New Location

A much-anticipated gathering is returning to Cappadocia. The Slow Food Earth Market Cappadocia–Uçhisar will welcome visitors to its new location with the opening of the new season on Saturday, 18 April.

Implemented by Cappadocia University with support from the Social Development Support Programme (SOGEP), coordinated by the General Directorate of Development Agencies of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and administered by the Ahiler Development Agency (AHİKA), the Slow Food Earth Market Cappadocia–Uçhisar is reopening after the seasonal break with the support of the Nevşehir Governorship and other local stakeholders.

Established through the dedication of local producers, the rhythm of the seasons, and the unique heritage of Cappadocia, the Earth Market Cappadocia–Uçhisar is more than a marketplace. It is a meeting place that celebrates community, sharing, and local production. Following a short seasonal break, the market returns to reconnect producers and visitors in a familiar and welcoming atmosphere.

Developed through the academic and institutional contributions of Cappadocia University, the market strengthens the connection between producers and consumers while promoting environmentally responsible production based on the Slow Food philosophy of “good, clean and fair food.” As part of the global Slow Food movement—which advocates the protection of local food traditions, traditional production methods, and biodiversity—Earth Markets form an international network that enables local producers to sell directly to consumers through a sustainable, intermediary-free market model.

At its new location, visitors will find fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, naturally produced foods sourced directly from local producers, traditional delicacies prepared using authentic methods, and a wide variety of regional products. By eliminating intermediaries, the market strengthens the relationship between producers and consumers while contributing to the local economy and sustainable rural development.

In addition to shopping, the market offers workshops, tasting sessions, and community conversations, creating a space where visitors can learn, connect, and enjoy meaningful experiences together.

To celebrate the opening of the new season, visitors will also enjoy special complimentary treats. The Slow Food Earth Market Cappadocia–Uçhisar will open its doors on Saturday, 18 April, and will continue welcoming visitors every Saturday throughout the season.
