Project Summary
Hürmetçi Marshes, located within the boundaries of the Hacılar district, is a wetland of international importance as it meets one of the nine Ramsar criteria. It hosts numerous bird species on the migration route connecting Europe, Asia, and Africa. With these unique features and proximity to destinations like Cappadocia and Erciyes, it holds significant tourism potential. The requested technical support aligns with Measures 3.1, 3.2, and 3.3 under the “Development of the Services Sector” axis of the TR72 Region 2014-2023 Regional Plan. It involves obtaining consultancy support to prepare an Action Plan for Integrating Hürmetçi Marshes into Tourism. This consultancy aims to present an action plan that serves as the first step in integrating Hürmetçi Marshes, a significant potential asset in the TR72 Region, into the regional economy within sustainable tourism standards.
