We are coming together for the launch of our project titled “Uniting for Environmental Sustainability in the Cinema and Media Industries,” supported by the British Council Going Global Partnerships program, and the introduction of EkoFilm: Sustainable Production Platform, which was established within this scope.
The project is carried out in partnership with Cappadocia University’s Center for Environmental Humanities and Brunel University London, in collaboration with YAPIMLAB, founded by producer Zeynep Atakan, Atlantik Film, led by director Reha Erdem, and Yuvam Dünya Association, which works in the field of climate crisis awareness. Planned to last approximately two years, the project aims to foster a culture of environmental awareness and responsibility among current and future film professionals, as well as promote eco-friendly practices in filmmaking.
The launch event, moderated by Assoc. Prof. Sinan Akıllı from the Center for Environmental Humanities will feature speeches by British Council Turkey Director Gill Caldicott, project coordinators Dr. Ekin Gündüz Özdemirci and Nurten Bayraktar, project team members Dr. Sezen Kayhan, Dr. Caroline Ruddell, and Niki Ashby, YAPIMLAB founder Zeynep Atakan, Kiraz Erdem from Atlantik Film, and Merve Selamet from Yuvam Dünya Association.
