The “KAM Talks” series, organized by the Cappadocia Cultural Research Center (KAM) and reflecting the center’s work on cultural heritage, visual memory, and art history, continues.
In this session, themed “Archaeology and Art History,” a critical topic in the visual culture of Cappadocia will be examined.
The conference will feature Dr. Metin Kaya, Research Assistant at Istanbul University’s Department of Art History, who will focus on ornamental motifs in monumental Byzantine painting—an area of great importance for Cappadocia’s visual memory. Dr. Kaya will discuss the artistic language, symbolic meanings, and the role of non-figurative decoration examples within the region’s cultural continuity.
The conference welcomes anyone interested in cultural heritage, art history, and Cappadocia’s visual identity.
