The sixth edition of the Cappadocia Economic Meetings was held this year under the theme “Ecological Sustainability and Ecological Agriculture” at the Medrese Building, A-1 Hall, on our university’s Mustafapaşa Campus.
The meeting was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İlhan Öztürk, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Administrative, and Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Rıfat Yıldız, Prof. Dr. Ruşen Yalçın Keleş, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Şahinöz, Prof. Dr. Uygun Aksoy, Prof. Dr. Bülent Gülçubuk, Prof. Dr. Ümmügülsüm Erdoğan, Prof. Dr. Cem Özkan, Prof. Dr. İbrahim Ak, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özgür Teoman, Bilge Türk, Özge Çiçekli, Tuğba Akkurt Düzgün, and Öztekin Düzgün.
The Cappadocia Economic Meetings, which we have institutionalized as the Cappadocia University Cappadocia Tourism Data Processing, Innovation, and Project-Based Application and Research Center, held its sixth edition titled “Ecological Sustainability and Ecological Agriculture.” The meetings featured sector representatives, experts, and distinguished academics from neighboring provinces as discussants. Topics such as economic growth and ecological sustainability, rural development and ecological interaction under the umbrella of sustainability, agroecology, organic agriculture and rural development, sustainability and biological control in ecological agriculture, the share of environmental agricultural products in Turkey’s exports and foreign market analysis, the activities of non-governmental organizations focused on environmental agriculture, and experiences in the transition from rural to urban areas were discussed.
