Project Summary
This study will examine news samples related to the climate crisis in mainstream media following the ratification of the Paris Agreement by the Turkish Grand National Assembly in light of framing theory. The selected news will be analyzed in the context of anthropocentrism and sustainable development concepts by identifying the frames used. The study will use document analysis to determine climate crisis-related news published between November 2021 and November 2022 on the websites of Turkey’s top three highest-circulation newspapers. It will examine them through content analysis within the framework of framing theory. The study aims to reveal how anthropocentric and sustainable development-focused approaches, which are prominent in studies on climate crisis framing in the media, are reflected in Turkish examples.
