An event titled Waste Segregation Knowledge Contest was organized at our university on 04-05-12 December 2024 in Ürgüp, Fabrika, Mustafapaşa, Uçhisar, and Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Campuses. The competition, which aimed to improve waste management, implement more appropriate waste sorting, and raise awareness of waste, led to fun and knowledge-filled moments.
Moderated by Sustainability Office Coordinator Dr. Assist. Prof. Dr. Selda ÖZTÜRK, Coordinator of the Sustainability Office, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sinan AKILLI, Head of the Sustainability Commission, said that the waste sorting competition was an informative and entertaining competition adventure with questions such as what the priority in waste management is and in which boxes the waste should be thrown according to their color codes. In addition, our students who participated in the competition held on five different campuses also stated that the waste sorting quiz eliminated their lack of knowledge and increased their awareness.
The winners of our competition, according to the campuses, are as follows;

Uchisar Campus Onur Yürütütken (3rd-year student of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department)
Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Campus: Enes Aktürk (2nd-year student of Civil Aviation Cabin Services Program)
