We, as faculty members of Cappadocia University, prepared this book titled Urban and Environmental Management in Turkey with the aim of contributing to the literature from a holistic perspective. We intended for the book, which addresses the topic especially in its “institutional and legal” dimensions, to serve as a resource that scholars and students in various fields of higher education can benefit from, thanks to its interdisciplinary and comprehensive nature. Focusing primarily on management and planning issues related to the conservation of natural and cultural assets, the subjects addressed in this book within the context of the conservation–use balance, or in other words, sustainability, are current issues that both in Turkey and globally, states and local governments, international organizations, civil society organizations, and professional associations with public status are striving to resolve through cooperation and collaboration.
