Who We Are ?

Name: Cappadocia Sustainable Gastronomy and Tourism Association

Purpose: We are a community formed by bringing together academics, chefs, entrepreneurs, producers, and those passionate about gastronomy. We appreciate and prioritize Cappadocia’s gastronomic heritage. By utilizing the resources of the Gastronomy, Culinary Arts, and Chef Departments of Cappadocia University, we aim to revive the region’s forgotten recipes, products, and culinary traditions, create a multiplier effect by combining sustainable tourism with gastronomic experiences, and pass this knowledge on to future generations.

Activities:

  • Collecting local products, traditional recipes, and cooking techniques of Cappadocia
  • Promoting Cappadocia’s gastronomic heritage through our website, gastrocappadocia.com
  • Encouraging the increased use of local recipes and products in restaurants and accommodation establishments to enhance the benefits of local food producers from tourism
  • Transforming Cappadocia into a high-quality, unique, and sustainable gastronomic tourism destination to enrich visitors’ experiences
  • Developing training and information-sharing platforms for all local stakeholders in the field of gastronomy with an integrated approach to economic, environmental, and social sustainability
